The Natural Interest
There is nothing natural about politics, with the possible exception of self-defence and hunting for prey. Protecting the natural interest and natural security requires ambiguity, deflection and deception. Camouflage is a form of ambiguity in itself. Blending into the background is a good strategy while preparing to pounce on an unsuspecting victim. The Naturals want a natural future for Australia , even though the rest of the world seems to prefer another sort. We are innocent of any wrongdoing. We are not to blame for the fossil fuel use of our ancestors. We do not have a black armband view of history or the future. Nor do we have a black face, black coalface, brown coalface, nuclear powered or nuclear armed view of anything truly Australian. We are the sunshine party. We are the full of solar goodness.
