A Great Big Natural Economy for Australia
The Great Barrier Reef is naturally great.
The outback is naturally great, too.
Both are big.
That's why they're physically great.
But are they economically great?
We want a great big natural economy for Australia.
There are plenty of great natural resources in and around Australia to dig up or suck up or grow things in or on.
Australia has a great load of natural stuff to sell.
Great big Australia is there for the taking, for the right price.
Along with the Great Barrier Reef, there are quite a few other great things about Australia.
There is the Great Artesian Basin.
There is the Great Australian Bight.
There is the Great Dividing Range.
There is the Great Sandy-Tanami Desert.
There is the Great Ocean Road.
There is the Great Victoria Desert.
There are big things everywhere in Australia.
Think Natural. Think big.
For a great many years, the great big fossil fuel lobby and the great big minerals lobby and the great big tobacco lobby and the great big pesticide lobby have lobbied and pestered everyone to think big, especially about big money and big profits and big exports.
We have listened. We have consulted. We have decided.
That is why we are Naturals for leadership.
Leadership, or at least deputy leadership, is what we stand for and sit for and lounge about listening to lobbyists for.
We especially listen if the lobbyists are big donors to our party.
We expect big lobbyists to provide all the beers and barbecues we feel are necessary to our reasonable regional and national policy planning. We know they only come to us when they have failed to get their way with the LobbyRule Party.
When pesky city journalists ask us questions about the Great Barrier Reef, we remind them of the problems caused by Laybore.
We are naturally better than all the other political parties in Australia.
We advance the interests of reasonable Australians, including those in Greater Western City, Greater Hume Shire, Greater Melbourne, Greater Hobart, the Great Southern region of Western Australia and Greater Adelaide.
We know that a natural future for Australia requires a great big natural economy everywhere, including in other countries.
Our national office is naturally in a great big country town called Canberra.
We have local offices throughout Queensland. They are describes as Local Natural Places.
If you are a Queenslander, it is easy to find your local LNP by asking for directions at your local pub.
In coal mining areas, in Queensland and elsewhere, the Naturals also have Community Service Groups.
The groups usually gather during extreme weather events to discuss the future of coal seam gas and to float other share-related ideas, like shale gas and other cracking possibilities.
The groups in the Latrobe Valley of Victoria continue to discuss whether a clean, green future is compatible with burning lignite and filling the air with pollution.
As to be expected. there have been many heated arguments in those groups about natural heating and unnatural heating.
The costs and benefits of great big infrastructure projects have also been measured in various Naturals measuring groups around Australia. After all, the economy is all about measuring things.
No briquettes are natural but nor is induction cooking.
Filling a kitchen with methane is not natural, either.
A desire for consistent access to clean water and good food is natural. It is also reasonable.
Nature, even with all its geological and climatological faults, is reasonable. It requires understanding. It requires affection. It does not like pollution. It does not want to be degraded.
Comparing energy economics accurately with affection economics, and infection economics, and other forms of economics, is important in all Naturals policy making.
We do not fight for anything. We ask politely.
We are not against wealth. We are against greed.
We know everyone deserves a fair share, whether they can afford to pay for it in money or through simply being well-informed and kind.
